Ghirelli gets Auto GP Super Nova test

Vittorio Ghirelli Auto GP 2012 teams’ champion Super Nova will run Vittorio Ghirelli at next week’s two-day Auto GP test in Barcelona.

The 18-year-old was an occasional top-10 finisher in Formula Renault 3.5 this season with Comtec.

Euronova has also confirmed its line-up for next Thursday’s test, with Japanese driver Yoshitaka Kuroda set to continue his relationship with Vincenzo Sospiri’s squad.

Kuroda raced with the team in Formula Abarth in 2011 and in this year’s Italian Formula 3 championship.

Kuroda will be joined at Euronova by compatriot Kimiya Sato, a 23-year-old from Hyiogo. Sato finished third in the 2012 German F3 championship.

“Yoshitaka and Kimiya’s presence proves that the recognition of our championship has gone well beyond Europe, and that’s been one of our goals since the beginning,” said Auto GP boss Enzo Coloni.

“Ghirelli also spent one day testing with our simulator, and I’m very satisfied by the feedback he provided.

“In the next few days, we’ll be unveiling the rest of the line-up, and lots of news is expected.”
