Line-up set for FR3.5 rookie test

Aragon start FR3.5 2012

Champions from eight junior single seater championships lead the entry for this week’s Formula Renault 3.5 rookie test at Aragon.

In total 14 drivers will take part in the test on Wednesday. All have earned their outings as prizes for their finishing positions in various championships in 2012.

Stoffel Vandoorne, who succeeded 2012 FR3.5 champion Robin Frijns as Formula Renault Eurocup champion recently, is one of eight drivers from various series who will attend the test.

The Belgian will drive for DAMS, while his main rival in the Eurocup – FR ALPS champion and Red Bull junior Daniil Kvyat, will drive for Arden Caterham.

British Formula 3 champion Jack Harvey is one of five F3 drivers to have earned a test. The Briton will drive for Carlin, which took him to his 2012 success.

Other Brits to take part in the rookie-only session are FR NEC champion Jake Dennis (Lotus), Jordan King (BVM Target), and Josh Hill (ISR).

Czech squad ISR will also run German F3 champion Jimmy Eriksson on the rookie day, and it has confirmed that FR3.5 race winner Esteban Guerrieri will return to the category to test later in the week.

Formula 2 champion Luciano Bacheta, who has already had his prize Williams Formula 1 test, will drive for Pons Racing.
