2013 Daytona Preseason Thunder Day 1 Afternoon Test Speeds

Joe Gibbs Racing had all three teams at the top of the speed charts at the end of the Daytona Preseason Thunder Day 1 afternoon test session, as Denny Hamlin was the fastest with a lap speed of 195.712 mph.

Matt Kenseth, who was the fastest in the morning session, was second with a lap speed of 195.385 mph, followed by Kyle Busch (195.329 mph) who was third fastest, Mark Martin (195.063) fourth and Jeff Burton (194.620) was fifth fastest.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest in the session were Paul Menard (193.340 mph) who was sixth fastest, Danica Patrick (192.934) seventh, Marcos Ambrose (192.530) eighth, Clint Bowyer (192.513) ninth and Aric Almirola (192.489) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.

The teams will return to the track Friday for two more test sessions, and then again on Saturday for their final two test sessions.
