British sportscar star Tom Kimber-Smith will return to the Greaves Motorsport squad in his bid for a hat-trick of LMP2 victories at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Kimber-Smith will race one of the Greaves team’s Zytek-Nissan Z11SN P2s in the 24 Hours in June as he tries to repeat his 2011 Le Mans class victory with the team and his 2012 success with the Starworks HPD squad.
The programme with Greaves for Kimber-Smith includes the Sebring 12 Hours American Le Mans Series opener in March and the Spa round of the World Endurance Championship in May.
Kimber-Smith, who also won the 2011 Le Mans Series P2 title with the team, said: “I am really pleased to continue my association with Greaves Motorsport and I am sure that we can add to the list of successes that we have achieved together over the past two years.”
Greaves team manager Jakob Greaves said: “Tom has been one the key elements in our record over the past few seasons. Fast and reliable, he is a perfect match for the team.”
Kimber-Smith is free to race at Sebring with Greaves courtesy of the late start to his programme in the ALMS with CORE Autosport‘s new Porsche 911 GT3-RSR.
Greaves has announced plans to run one Zytek in the full WEC and a second car in the European Le Mans Series. It has entered both for Le Mans.
