Rebellion retains Jani for 2013

Neel Jani Neel Jani will retain his Rebellion drive for the 2013 season.

The 29-year-old Swiss driver has been part of the squad since joining for the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours, when it was still running under the Sebah banner.

Jani, a former Toro Rosso Formula 1 test driver and Champ Car racer, achieved the best results of his sportscar career so far last year, when he was part of Rebellion’s winning crew at Petit Le Mans and finished fourth at Le Mans.

Team boss Bart Hayden said: “It is very positive for the team that Neel is part of our driver line-up again this year.

“Neel has always demonstrated remarkable pace and last year he was more successful than ever with the team.”

Rebellion had already announced that Andrea Belicchi was also staying on for 2013.

The team has committed to an American Le Mans Series programme with its Lola-Toyota this year and could add a World Endurance Championship campaign as well.
