Heavy rain at the Marrakech circuit has caused the opening Auto GP free practice session to be cancelled.
The waterlogged track, which is due to host the second round of the single-seater series this weekend, was deemed to be too dangerous to be tackled by the Lola-Zyteks.
Series organisers have yet to announce details of the remainder of Friday’s scheduled timetable.
An inspection of the Moulay el Hassan circuit was due to take place at 1pm local time, but further showers have delayed this further.
Qualifying is due to take place later on Friday, although a number of drivers have expressed their desire not to take to the track in such weather.
Super Nova’s Antonio Spavone said, “I hope we do all the running tomorrow. This circuit is tricky enough when it is dry. With all this water it is too risky.”
Zele Racing’s Narain Karthikeyan added, “There really is a lot of standing water around, I think it might be better to have qualifying tomorrow, but let’s see.”
