Jan Charouz will race for the Kodewa-run Lotus LMP2 squad in this year’s World Endurance Championship.
The 25-year-old Czech completes the team’s second car line-up alongside Dominik Kraihamer and lead driver Thomas Holzer.
Charouz served as official test and reserve driver for the Lotus Formula 1 team between 2010 and ’12, and also triumphed in 2009 Le Mans Series, driving for the works Aston Martin LMP1 effort.
He drove for Lotus in the Shanghai round of last year’s WEC campaign, where he and team-mates Kevin Weeda and James Rossiter started from LMP2 class pole.
Lotus LMP2 has already confirmed Rossiter, Weeda and Vitantonio Liuzzi for its other WEC entry.
In addition to confirming Charouz, Lotus announced a new partnership with Czech firm Praga, which will supply the engines for the 2013 season.
The team’s new T128 contender broke cover at Paul Ricard on Friday. The WEC season starts at Silverstone on April 14.
