Fortec Motorsport’s Formula 3 European Championship line-up is down to three cars for this weekend’s Silverstone round after Dmitry Suranovich decided not to compete.
The Belarus-born ex-GP3 graduate took a best finish of 17th in the opening round at Monza, and his decision to skip Silverstone – due to what have been cited as back problems – came late in the day.
Fortec team principal Richard Dutton is unclear whether the team will be looking for a new driver to join Felix Serralles, Pipo Derani and Josh Hill in the squad’s quartet of Dallara-Mercedes.
“I don’t really know whether we’ll be needing to replace him,” said Dutton. “It looks as though it may be that way. He sent us a letter saying he’d injured his back or something.”
