New Auto GP car set for maiden run

Auto GP’s new 2013 car will hit the track for the first time at Vallelunga on Thursday, the series has announced.

Champion driver Adrian Quaife-Hobbs tried out a prototype version in last December’s Barcelona tests, but the definitive car is now ready for its debut.

Auto GP has selected owner/driver Giuseppe Cipriani and his newly-established Ibiza team to conduct the inaugural test as Cipriani was the first official 2013 entrant.

Series chief Enzo Coloni said: “We are really looking forward to the maiden run of this car. The prototype version already provided us with some satisfactory results and we’re pretty confident for the Vallelunga shakedown following all the work done in a limited amount of time.

“We’re set to test the new nose, underbody, sidepods, airscope and bonnet. It’s going to be a completely new car.”
