Alex Job switches to Ferrari 458

Alex Job Racing switches to Ferrari 458 Multiple American Le Mans Series GT champion team Alex Job Racing will switch to a Ferrari 458 for its 2013 campaign.

AJR is pairing up with Eduardo Espindola’s West Racing organisation for its new programme.

It fielded the factory Lotus Evora effort in the ALMS last season.

Townsend Bell and Bill Sweedler are staying on as drivers.

Team owner Alex Job said: “Eduardo has quietly assembled all of the assets required to become a championship-contending race team, and I’m excited that we are combining efforts to help get the team to the front.”

Job’s team won the ALMS GT class titles in 2001, ’02 and ’04 during its long period as a leading Porsche squad. It returned first in the GTC class, which it won last year, before becoming involved with Lotus.

The AJR/West deal adds further strength to Ferrari’s ALMS effort, following that announcement that Risi was also returning to join last year’s top Ferrari squad Extreme Speed.
