Technical tidbits, spy shots of test mules, and rumors surrounding Ferrari’s replacement for the Enzo, codenamed F150, have been emanating from Maranello for more than a year now, and today we got our first sample of the twelve-cylinder seductress singing its siren song while dressed the closest thing to production bodywork we’ve seen yet. Captured by Marchettino, a fellow who either has lots of connections or free time, the video captures the F150 undergoing testing at the Fiorano circuit and came to our attention via Jalopnik.
- First Drive: 2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta
- Road Test: 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
- Comparison Test: 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia vs. 2011 McLaren MP4-12C, 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
For our money, the sweetest sounds come in just before the two-minute mark, when for the first time the F150 can be seen and heard braking, turning in, and accelerating in genuine anger, summoning a banshee-like 12-piston wail. Working silently behind the famous Ferrari growl is the F150′s HY-KERS hybrid system, which is said to add as much as an extra 150 horsepower to the V-12′s rumored existing 800. Ferrari’s next hypercar is expected to debut at the 2013 Geneva auto show in March.
