Plato gets new livery for finale

Jason Plato's MG6 BTCCJason Plato’s MG6 will race in a new livery for the British Touring Car Championship finale at Brands Hatch.

Both Plato and fellow works MG driver Andy Neate will drive cars liveried to highlight the cause of Cancer Research UK, main sponsor Tesco’s Charity of the Year.

The scheme has been designed by Ian Hutchinson, who had a hand in the Silk Cut Jaguar and Jordan 7Up liveries in the 1980s and 1990s.

Plato said: “My close friend Richard Burns was taken by cancer several years ago so this really brings home what is important in life.

“I hope people will dig deep and donate to the cause as at some point we are all affected or touched by cancer.”

To donate £1, text MGKX99 to 70070.

Double champion Plato heads into the Brands Hatch weekend 15 points behind points leader Gordon Shedden (works Honda).
